Student Cooking TV: Bradford Bargain Bucket.

” we grabbed the first reduced priced package of chicken limbs and threw them in a pan of oil… “

Me and my friend Usman were tasked by StudentCooking.TV to prepare a meal with a budget of £10. Due to neither of us feeling compelled to take up a macrobiotic lifestyle just yet and the thought of ten whole british pounds at our disposal we grabbed the first reduced priced package of chicken limbs we saw and threw them in a pan of oil…

” we left ourselves as unprepared as possible “

StudentCooking.TV is described on it’s website as ” the online equivalent of asking your mum a question about cooking… but with a little more style”. However, the style of this particular video was pretty much haphazard, think zoo-tv add some hot cooking appliances and hope for the best. We weren’t aiming to be the next hairy bikers  in fact we left ourselves as unprepared as possible to ensure as many disasters and problems and to avoid contrived performances when things inevitably went wrong.

We succeeded in burning the first attempt setting off the fire alarm, however it seems our ambitions to make creative chaos weren’t shared by the editor who mercilessly hacked away at the comedy gold. Nevertheless I was happy with the result.  A fairly successful third attempt at presenting and the first attempt at unscripted pieces to camera.
